Exclusive Treatments

Each session is tailored to meet the individual needs of each recipient. Whether your bodywork goal is to drop into a state of deep relaxation, bring overall balance into your body, enable tension release to promote recovery & prevent injury... the result you want to achieve within the session are always the intention.

SARGA BODYWORK | MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Sarga Bodywork is a barefoot massage method founded and developed in Hawaii and has since won international aclaim. This practice enables the practitioner to gain tensional support and force from a silk fabric strap fastened to the underside of a massage table. The practitioner wraps into the silk strap with their body. Then by pulling up on the fabric with their hands and applying downward pressure with their body, this added energy is safely and effectively transferred onto the recipient’s body for a deeply relaxing effect. The combination of gravitational and tensional force with this method allows the practitioner to deliver consistent, oblique pressure to provide a uniquely effective myofascial release therapy. The practitioner utilizes the broad, densely innervated surfaces of their feet, the perfect tool for the job!

THAI YOGA MASSAGE

Thai Yoga Massage the recipient will lie on a futon like mat on the floor. The therapist moves the recipient into a series of yoga-like postures and facilitated stretches. The therapist applies compression using their hands, forearms, knees, legs, and (there very clean!) feet, throughout the energy lines of your body, working acupressure points.

Thai Massage traditionally begins with pressure application to specific
points on the body that opens channels called Sen (or Meridians). Stagnant
energy (or Prana) is able to shift, thus improving the flow of energy throughout
the body. Next, dynamic stretches are performed on many muscles,
simultaneously.

No oil is applied, and you are fully dressed. Warm herbal packs & herbal salves may be used for added relaxation.

THAI YOGA MASSAGE FOR ATHLETES

In a Thai Sports Massage the recipient will lie on a futon like mat on the floor (as in Thai yoga) & a specific area of the body or a particular muscle group is generally
focused upon, while a traditional Thai Yoga Massage includes
gradual stretching of the whole body promoting relaxation in the
 recipient.

Athletes are prone to fatigue, muscle and joint pain, and even injury. The stress endured by the body during intense exercise
causes muscles to tighten and results in the restriction the flow of
blood, oxygen, lymphatic fluid, and other vital energy necessary to
maintain the joint mobility, range of motion, healthy nerve function and body-wide flexibility essential for optimal performance.
Thai Sports Massage combines assisted stretches and various
techniques to treat injuries and improve an athlete’s range of motion.

These deeper, multi-planar stretches prepare the athlete’s muscles
better for everyday activities than stretches that are isolating or uni-
directional.

Thai Sports Massage allows the recipient to drop into a rest and restore state of relaxation while also targeted techniques
are performed to enable tension release, to promote recovery and to
prevent injury. Thai Sports
Massage can have energizing and invigorating effects, bringing about mental and physical restoration. Greater
flexibility and boosted circulation both reduce the risk of spraining a
muscle and stretching or tearing tendons and ligaments.

No oil is applied, and you are fully dressed. Warm herbal packs & herbal salves may be used for added relaxation.

THAI YOGA MASSAGE FOR PREGNANCY

In a Prenatal Thai Yoga Massage the recipient will lie on a futon like mat on the floor (as in Thai yoga), mostly in a side lying position with a large bolster for the legs and arms. The side lying position gives full access to the sacrum, the lower back, the major supporting muscles lining the spine, the scapulae, as well as the shoulders and neck. The recipient may also be brought to a reclined seated position supported by pillows and bolsters. Broad pressure is applied to safe areas of the body using the warm herbal packs as extensions of the hands. Massage in general is not performed in the first trimester of pregnancy.

No oil is applied, and you are fully dressed. Warm herbal packs & herbal salves may be used for added relaxation.

THAI MASSAGE OF THE ABDOMEN

In a Thai Abdominal Massage, the recipient will lie on a futon like mat on the floor (as in Thai yoga). Abdominal massage is a specialized approach to freeing internal structures. De-stress, detoxify, and tone your organs. Symptoms of day to day stress, injury, surgery, and trauma are often reflected in the abdominal region, as well as the rib cage. Abdominal massage can relax the digestive system and assist in proper function of the large and small intestine. Abdominal massage can be especially effective for lower back pain.

No oil is applied, and you are fully dressed. Warm herbal packs & herbal salves may be used for added relaxation.

FOOT REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is an ancient Chinese medicine. Did you know the soles of the feet alone house over 2000 nerve endings? It is believed that specific points of the feet correlate to corresponding areas in the body though energy channels known as meridians. These 10 channels run vertically up and down the body, represented by each of the toes.

During a Foot Reflexology session at Telluride Bodyworks, the recipient will lie on a futon like mat on the floor (as in Thai yoga). Some Thai Yoga Stretching & Massage techniques may also be incorporated into a session.
